FIFA WOMEN WORLD CUP UPDATE

OSHOALA SHINES IN 6-GOAL THRILLER AGAINST SWEEDEN, OKOBI WINS MVP
Nigeria's forward Asisat Oshoala kicks the ball to score a goal
The Nigerian Super Falcons kick start her 2015 FIFA Women World Cup in a more dramatic fashion against tournament favorite Sweeden. The game which was one massive encounter was brought to light  with stylish flicks and wonderful passes from the African, however all these would go down in the 21st minute when Desire Oparanozie misjudge a corner-kick and flick into her own net. Three minutes later, the Sweedish added to the Nigerian woes, via the same corner kick, Fischer calmly slot the ball which roll damagely on her feet into the open net to give the Sweedish a two-goal cushion. However, all efforts by the Nigerians to pull one back before the break proved abortive. Shortly after the break, The Super Falcons ran riot, the combination of Oparanozie, Oshoala, Okobi and Ordega was too much for the Sweedish, though Ordega could be seen as the biggest flop of the night that will not deter the determined Nigerian. In the 50th minute, Ngozi Okobi grabbed Nigeria’s first goal, and three minutes later, Assisat Oshoala restored parity, but goals were gem to behold. While Okobi cooly slot the ball after a gem of flick, Assisat would on her own outrun the defence before putting it pass the goalkeeper. Having sensed danger, the Sweedish Coach made a substitution, and the super sub, Sembrant, restore the European lead just three minutes after entry. Falcons pushed and pulled for an equalizer, and it take late in the game when Francisca Ordega cooly slotted the ball home in the 87th minute. The match which showed Nigeria the more superior side ended in a 3-3 draw. Liverpool Ladies striker, Assisat Oshoala gave her good account of herself and while she remains African best, while Inspirational Ngozi Okobi was awarded Live Your Goal Project Best Player of the Match.
