GHANA OPENED AFRICAN REPRÉSENTATIONS WITH A DRAW
A match game 4 of the ongoing FIFA WYC saw Yaw Yeboah stealing a late
minute equalizer for Ghana. The Black Satellites who were largely
dominated by Austria went down in the 50th minute, but rallied back with
a converted spot kick by talented Yaw Yeboah. The game kick-start
African duel in the competition.
PANAMA HELD 6-TIMES CHAMPION ARGENTINA
Panamá were the surprise package of the first round of matches played
earlier today. The young Pans held their own against tournament favs
Argentina in an encounter that ended 2-2. Argentina seemed to meet the
unexpected despite shooting ahead via inspirational Correa in the 14th
minute. Panama however drew level 5minutes later with Rodriguez grabbing
the unlikely equalizer. Correa will go ahead to grab a brace in the
79th minute, yet Panama stood high and equalized 5minutes later again
but through Escobar this time around to end the game 2-all.
USA SURVIVED MYANMAR SCARE
Myanmar seems to grab the headline in the early exchange, cutting back
US defence to open the goal floodlights, it was the first goal of the
tournament which was more of a goal mouth scramble. Y N OO grabbed the
first goal of the tournament, but hardworking US Team grabbed the
equalizer through inspirational Tall in the 17th minute, before going
ahead to win the duel 2-1 through Hyndman in the 56th minutes.
NEW ZEALAND, UKRAINE SHARED SPOILS
The opening fixture of the tournament was denied of the sparkling that
greeted other fixtures, though in a record greeting crowd, both teams
flatter to deceive. Ukraine started the game the more promising but late
exchanges saw New Zealand the better of the two sides despite ending in
a barren draw.
